Artistically, we are grounded on the belief that we are a theatre that seeks a response, a theatre that speaks and wants to be heard. At Ágora we believe that theatre goes beyond its artistic form. It is a way of being and reacting, of living and interacting. It is tradition and invention of tradition.  The basis of our company lies in the underlying need to abridge the gap between the present and the past, to discover the new in the old-- and in this process to find our own voice as contemporary artists.  We believe that by striving to establish a link between past literary, cultural and performance traditions- from ritual to circus and from classical to expressionism- we can seek a response to the very fundamental questions of life and to our place in the world as artists of the 21^st Century. Ágora seeks to create a theatre that in the directness of its form is immediate, highly physical, imaginative, emotional and visually mesmerizing.
